Alternative Breaks at UCSD offers both need-based and merit-based scholarships in order to support our students' endeavors to seek social justice and active citizenship as a priority in their daily lives. In Alternative Breaks, we believe that everyone should be afforded the opportunity to participate in our program regardless of financial or socioeconomic background. Fortunately, our program is blessed with generous and gracious donors who also believe in our Movement and who wish to support our students! Additionally, our innovative Leadership team continuously strives to create and implement infrastructural initiatives to raise funds and offer merit-based scholarships!
Please consider applying for our scholarships!

Expectations for Need-Based Scholarship Recipients
Selected recipients are expected and required to participate in and complete the following tasks.
1) Be aware of your specific AMAZING AB@UCSD scholarship donor(s).
2) Send at least four email updates (also known as Touch Points) regarding the progress of your Alternative Breaks experience to your scholarship donor(s) -- two during Winter Quarter and two during Spring. This is not only an opportunity for you to reflect & introspect, but also to share your experience with the donor(s) who supports you!
3) During Spring Quarter, attend the Scholarship Reception in April on the day of Alternative Breaks Community Dinner. Date, time, and location to be announced.
